|Scope & Content||
This black and white postcard with glossy finish depicts the Laconia Armory building. "Armory. Laconia, NH. Quimby Drug" inscribed at lower right corner (written onto original negative). Back side does not have center line for writing.
This structure is two stories and made of brick with heavy concrete sills and lintels. The structure has a highly ornamented front entry off of what appears to be a circular driveway. The front door is approached by five sets. The door is recessed, with buttressed sections on either side, giving the structure a castellar quality and looking somewhat like a barbican. The door has a low pitched Gothic-style arch above with three conjoined windows above. There is somewhat of a false front at the top of this facade with a crenellated edge. A flagpole is mounted from this.
One can see an attached ell to the left side of the building with a metal stair leading into this structure. The ell appears to be brick as well, with a gable roof.
