This colored post card depicts Kimball's Castle in Gilford overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee in the early 1900s.
In the foreground is a grass and tree covered top of a hill, Belknap Point. There is a small wooden building in the center foreground partially hidden by trees and bushes. In the middleground on the left is Kimball's Castle with a decorative edged upper roof line and small towers on the back corners. There is an an entrance on the back facing the top of the grassy open area. There is a flagpole on the roof on the front center facing the Lake. In the background is Lake Winnipesaukee with several islands in it. Also in the lake on the right is a boat, the Mount Washington, with steam coming from its smokestack. On the front is printed " Kimball's Castle and Lake Winnipesaukee, N.H." On the back is printed "Post Card" and "Naturekrom" as well as " 2642. Published by Atkinson News Co., Tilton, N.H., Made in U.S.A." Written on the back is a personal message to Miss Minnie Shattuck at A 44 Gore Hall, Cambridge Mass." There is also a one cent stamp on the upper right on the back.
