Proprietor: George W. Weeks

1877: began with 8 sleeping apartments as an addition to the Methodist boarding house by Levi R. Weeks (brother of George W.)

1880: new hotel was erected when George W. and Levi R Weeks united

1882: Levi R. Weeks "gave up t the disease which had been praying upon his constitution for a number of years, leaving the business in which he had taken such a deep interest to George W. Weeks, Jr. who has since been sole manager and proprietor of the Lakeside House." (Illustrated Laconian, 233)

1899: contained 75 sleeping rooms as well as the adjoining Lakeside Cafe to the east

Item is a scrapbook from the Laconia Police Department started in 1905 by H. K. W. Scott. The front features a color cartoon cut-out of a police officer and criminal pasted to the black cover. Document is a cut-out advertisement for the "Lakeside House" at The Weirs and includes an image of the house, its open months, and proprietor. It reads, "Lakeside House, Weirs' N.H. -Open from May1st to October 1st -Send for Circulars- Geo. W. Weeks, proprietor." House is a large building in two parts- one is a three-and-a-half story front section with a large covered porch and several dormers, and the second is a long two-and-a-half story section with many windows and many dormers. People stand on the porch and horses and carraiges stand in the dirt road in front of the house.

Copy of the map or plan of the Methodist Episcopal Camp Ground at Weirs, NH. Lists the Concord and Montreal Railroad line, Lake Winnipesaukee, Lakeside Avenue etc... In pencil "Return to Gaston P. Jordan" Silver square stickers adhere the map to a piece of cardboard, stickers of Christmas scenes from the 1940s.

This is a bound booklet entitled " Lake Village and its Business Men", compliments of the Winnipiseogee Lake Cotton and Woolen Manufacturing Company of Lake Village, listing histories of leading businesses and business men of central New Hamphsire, by George F. Bacon, published in 1890. The booklet has an outer front and back cover. On the front cover is printed : "Lake Village and Its Leading Business Men. Compliments of Winnipeseogee Cotton and Woolen Man'f'g Co., Agent's Office, Lake Village, N.H." Also on the front cover is a photograph of a house built of stone and wood with a tower on the front. Colored postcard image of the Lakeside House at the Weirs. Image features a side-view of the house at its entry way where a sign reads, "Lakeside" and two stonepillars stand. Some people walk around the grounds. A dirt road with railroad tracks runs in front. Post card was written on and sent in the mail and was post-marked in August 1918. Includes 2 cent stamp.
