Description This black and white photograph depicts the Colonial Theater, located on Main Street in Laconia, in late January of 1940.

In the foreground is Main Street with a sidewalk bordering it. There is a large group of people standing on the sidewalk in front of the Colonial Theater marquee which states : "Colonial Theater : Sonja Heine, Ray Milland and Everything Happen at Night also That's Right Your Wrong". There are lights surrounding the marquee. There are several doors across the front of the theater. On the back is written "Colonial Theater", "Laconia", and (crossed out) is:"late 30's, late 1937" as well as "37-40". (Note : it is confirmed by scrapbooks of Colonial Theater that these two films were shown January 25 - 31 in 1940).
