This black and white photograph depicts Union Cemetery located between Academy Street and Garfield Street in Laconia, on September 14, 1953.
In the foreground is grass covered ground. In the center foreground is a square raised area of ground surrounded by stone edging.There are two low stone gravestones within the raised area on the upper right corner. In the middleground is another raised area also surrounded by stone edging. There are low stone posts on each corner of the raised area and also in the side-centers. There is a flagpole with a flag on it stuck into the ground in the raised area in the back . On the far left in the middleground is a dirt driveway which proceeds from left to right. There is an automobile parked in the driveway. In the background are several gravestones, grave markers, some tall, some short. In the background on the far left is a tall gravestone with a cross on top. In the center background is a large gravestone with lettering carved on it stating "Carroll". In the far background are additional gravestones and grave markers and trees. Also in the very far background on the left are hills. On the back is written " '53".
