Description This black and white photograph depicts Main Street in Laconia in 1880s.

In the foreground leading into the background is Main Street. In the foreground on the far right is a storefront with a sign on the second story stating "Laconia Casket and Coffin, Wake Rooms, ____Undertaker." In the storefront windows in the building on its left is lettering stating " Story" and "Drugs". Farther down on the same side of the street, with a wooden canopy above it is Harrimans' Store. There are additional buildings, businesses and stores along the same side of the street leading into the background. There are utility poles along the side of the street . There are trees in the far background on the far left. Written below the picture in the album is " A Main Street view in the late 1880s. The wooden canopy at left was still there in 1902-3. Harriman's, where we bought the Boston Globe".
