Description Black and white photograph of Lieut. John L. Perley in his uniform in 1861.

Inside oval gilded frame with oval gold-trimmed mat. He stands against a wall with checked floorcloth on floor. He wears a long military coat, buttoned up, with epaulettes on the shoulders, long dark pants, and black leather shoes. He is a young man in the photograph.
The frame has applied acorn or fruit with leaves at top, bottom, and sides. Glass glaze. Wooden backing, tacked on.
